About our 2025 Nereim Fine arts award winners

Colette Hanke
Lindsey Overland

Colette Hanke attends the Academy at the Lakes High School.  She has always been fascinated with art ever since she was a kid, and hopes to be able to study it further in the future. She is passionate about painting and likes to experiment with all mediums.  This winning artwork is a 16x20in acrylic painting.  Colette created it as a way to practice value and experiment with the cell shading paint style. She used white charcoal pencil to sketch out the piece, then blocked out the light and shadow to help with the painting process.

Lindsey Overland attends Cypress Creek High School. She loves all art forms, with a primary focus on illustration. She would like to go into visual development as a concept artist in the future. The winning artwork is an acrylic painting with pearl craft stickers on a 12″x16″ canvas.

In 2025 we awarded two winners with each getting a $1,000 Scholarship through a Grant from the Suncoast Credit Union. Many thanks to Suncoast Credit Union for their generosity and contribution to our community.
